Im having trouble getting good quality bass in my car. When I place the exact same stereo and speakers (unmounted) into my brothers car however it sounds unbelievably better. Ive also tried a working stereo from another car which has the bass issue in my car.
I have tried reversing polarity and the problem still occurs. I have tried unplugging all speakers but one and still the problem is there. It distorts at the 18 volume level on a reasonably bassy song. I cant feel any bass at all!
The only thing i can think of is that its a wiring issue.... Well the other idea which might sound stupid, but maybe my car has some sort of power limiter preventing too much power being drawn by the stereo (yes this may sound dumb but im clutching at straws!). The only reason i think this is because one day i had the stereo loud, heater on full, lights on, windscreen wiper on and was putting both electric windows down at once and the stereo power actually stopped momentarily...
I am using a Kenwood to Toyota conversion plug.
My car is old and grandma like.....Toyota Seca Ultima AE92
