Steam Game Buying Question?

If u buy a game off seam or retial that goes on steam and u lose all ur data from ur computer.the game ill still be on steam for redownload but u will no tbe able to have saved data and that would make u sad lol. try to get the retial disc if u can unless u have fadt download or if its not a vavle game it makes it so much eazier to get the game lol.
