(stationary bike) Whats a better way to lose weight...(URGENT!)?

Should I put it to the highest level so I pedal slowly but it takes a lot more effort, or should I put it on a lower level but pedal as fast as I can.. If that makes sense...

Which one will make me lose weight/is better?

If you could explain why that would be great!
