Starting with d-bells[weight question] - (easy 10pts)?

Hey, i'm 19 and I've honestly never bothered with working out or anything like that since I had the strain of high school and no money for gym or equipment. So school's over, and I got a job now, meaning I can start getting my body in shape.

Keeping in mind that I don't have any experience here, can one of you tell me what's a good starting weight for a set of dumbbells to use at home? and like how to put them to good use enough to make me lose a couple of pounds + gain some muscle?


I'm 19(M), and I weight in at about 180-190 >_>
