I am being admitted to a in-patient 5-10 day detox withdrawal program using Subutex, as I had a failed back surgery fusion syndrome and the surgeons will only operate if I am narcotic free for 2 weeks, as my surgery is an Anterior/Posterior lurabar double fusion, and decompression of the L-3-4.
What can I expect during this withdrawal period, and what should I do for the pain for the 2 weeks before the next fusion surgery? I am on oxycodone 4-8 15mg per day, and 2-3 Soma. My back pain is severe, and my legs ache like crazy. Trying to avoid surgery I got hooked on morphine, Kadian, then I was put on 135mg of Methadone, which I am completely weaned off of as of 2 weeks ago. I get no high from oxycodone, it just lowers my pain so I can tolerate living. Thanks for all your advice.
