Starting a martial arts club in the UK?

Its been a while since I've run a club, but, what EXACTLY do you need nowadays in the UK to run a club, I mean like public indemnity insurance etc. Obviously some where to teach (duh).

The other question is, I wish to start my own art that is purely combinations of the various arts I have studied, can I 'go it alone' and create a martial art without the interference of other Instructors? I want this club to start out as a fun based system for kids, but learning awareness and techniques.

What do you think?

not sure about laws in UK.

I think it is permissible to 'teach' IF and ONLY IF you are honest about it when advertising.

If its a fun kids club with some awareness and techniques then say its a kids club / daycare with martial arts related activities. You need daycare experience however, and to be accredited or registered as a daycare provider who knows how to deal with them.

However you cannot call it a martial arts club, or say you teach them self defense, discipline or anything else, otherwise you are promoting bullshido which could harm those children later on.
