I just turned 18 recently and I am going to a university next year in Mississippi, Michigan or Washington (Still not sure yet). I have always been a part of my high schools Drill and Dance Team and now that I am going off to college I want to start my own! I already know how to do most of the coaching bits because I helped my coach a lot since I was my team’s captain for 3 years.
What I need help with is how to propose my position as a future coach when the school does have an actual opening for the job. Most high school administrators have never heard of Drill/Dance Teams. So who and how do I contact people to hopefully get the new sport started?
The other thing I don’t know is if I have to be a certain age to coach at a high school in each state.
