...get hauling heavy load? My Ram 2500 is a 96 with the Cummins engine that normally gets 21 -23 mpg not hauling any thing. Any one know the mileage it may get hauling 3 to 4 cars?
Besides commercial insurance does any one know what else I'll need to get started? Please no obvious answers like a trailer.
My husband has a CDL, he is an owner operator, but semi trucks are getiing too expensive to run. All insurance is taken care of.
Been dealing with semis for a long time, and don't know too much about driving a pick up commercially. Would we still have to do IFTA(fuel tax), have a DOT# on the truck, things like that.
Truck has everything, tow pkg, 5th wheel, electronic brake controller, ect.

it will get 12 to 15 miles per gallon and if you stay at about 65 it will get better gas milage and you need cargo insurence

I would guess 8-10 mpg with a heavy load. Does the truck have the towing package? bigger brakes and cooling system?
