I work for an online clothing company who sells on amazon. although he has alot of stock and quite a few suppliers he rarely has many items in stock that people want. He orders them in, which take a few days and then sends them or he offers them an alternative colour or product. Most people seem ok about this and he rarely gets negative feedback because of it. He turns over about half a million a year. I want to start my own online company too but on ebay as i know more about this. I have a big supplier to use right now but i have just tried to put my first big order in and he told me almost half of the items i want are out of stock for a couple of weeks.
This has really put the brakes on my plan now as i dont think i can risk putting a few thousand products on ebay and risk most of them being out of stock. what can i do? I will definately get negative feedback wont i if i keep refunding people or asking them to wait on backorder.
Does ebay work the same as amazon really as in you are not really meant to list things you dont have? and are people more tolerant on amazon regarding negative feedback.
I am getting married in 2 years and really need this to work to get me a better income.
Thanks
