I have nearly completed my site and i am struggling in deciding on how to get my site in the top ranks which is of course very important if you want to charge your customers money for listings.
Here is my idea on getting started for getting a high listing before charging money, and please give me feedback on what you think

I have a lot of content and information on my chosen niche along with the pages for the listings, so what i was thinking was simply running the site as if it were a content site and linking with other sites to get more visitors.
On the pages that are for the listings i will simply put a notice saying 'coming soon!' or something along those lines.
And when my site has hopefully reached fairly high then i can open for listings and start charging for listings.
You are probably thinking why don't i just give away free listings, but i don't really want to do that.
Please give feedback!!!!
