Started Gym.. gained 3 kgs.. am i losing fat too?

For the last month and a half, I started weight training.. Mon - Thurs . I do 4 exercises per muscle part, and I usually do 2 parts a day. ex. Chest + abs .. shoulders + back .. etc

The rest of the days I do basketball training..

I have gained 3 kgs.. and everyone told me that I am getting thinner.. is this possible?


I am 17 , height 178 cm, weight before 78.5kg, now aprox 81kg.


Is there anything to ensure myself if the weight gained is muscle? and does this help in fat burning pls?

and yes, I have seen much difference while playing, I feel normally while playing with senior players, (Age 24+) and for players with my age I play very confortably as I feel stronger than them.

Also, I have to practise my shooting very often , and I have increased shooting range.
