I started my period last Sunday, the same day I was told to start my birth control. My periods only last around 4/5 days or so, but I still have some slight bleeding, which I was told can happen in women. I'm not worried about that, it's like "spotting". However, I assume this will effect my "ovulation" days...? Or the day where I will be most fertile? I have been doing research about ovulation, but am a little confused now that my period is lasting a few days longer than normal. I had planned on having sex with my boyfriend next week (first time), but would like to not have sex on the most "fertile" days, if that is possible. Yes, I am aware that there are no safe days to have sex, and that you can get pregnant anytime, but I want to try and decrease my chances of getting pregnant if all possible. A condom will be used. Please, no rude comments, I am trying to be as educated and aware of the subject before I actually have sex. Thanks
