So the series IS being released this year? I thought it was slated for next year like the live action show...
I hope the animation was improved over that preview that was released a year ago. That looked like video game animation... It will also be interesting to see how they can keep up suspense, considering we already know what happens...
I also hope some of the characters from the 'Republic Commando' series will make an appearance, as they are rather interesting..
A completely pointless retread of one of the least interesting and overexposed parts of the Star Wars universe doesn't deserve to sound as good as this is sounding. If it gets good reviews, I'll see this in theaters, and no matter what, I'll check out the TV show.
Hmm, this should have been 2D instead of 3D. The original 2D designs, which I'm assuming these are based on judging from the look, don't translate well into 3D in my opinion.
It's like trying to translate the great Samurai Jack designs into 3D... it just wouldn't work.
Heh, well, at least it's gonna be real animation and not motion capture... right?
Isn't there already some Star Wars animated show (aside from the legos thing),now their translating it from LA,2-D and even legos into...CGI!?God help us all.
You can check out the latest trailer at starwars.com. Anakin appears to be as surprised to learn that he has a padawan as the rest of the fandom was. XD
Anywho, word on the street is that the feature is, in fact, the first three episodes of the series. Apparently, Uncle George must think he has something if he's willing to venture a theatrical release.
I'm under the impression that this series will show us more of Anakin's heroic side and not just Hayden Christensen's brooding and foreshadowing. I mean, we all know that Anakin becomes Vader.... but let's get a look at what a hero he was before his fall from grace.
I predict that people who bashed Episodes I and II are gonna find what they were looking for here.
The previous animated Clone Wars project delivered so there is no big reason to doubt this..
So its only the first three episodes taped together? Kind of lame but SW is a franchise I'd be willing to pay up outrageous movie prices just to get the "movie" experience. Hope this and the live action series area success so we can have more SW related projects.
The original Clone Wars project after Episode II came out until Episode III was pretty cool an amazing idea though it kind of left me wanting with more, I felt even with all the projects that the "clone wars' were still not presented very well. I'n glad we'll get to see more of them.
Exactly. i don't see why people are decrying the CGI, since the prequal trilogy was mostly CGI with live actors pasted in. I sure hope they got Frank Oz to perform Yoda here, though.
Hmmm, lemme rephrase a little there. I predict that people who were not satisfied with Episodes I and II (or Tartakovsky's Clone Wars) are going to change their tune when they see this.
Speaking of which, people who are familiar with the Tartakovsky series (or "Expanded Universe" material in general) will no doubt notice Asajj Ventress and an ARC Trooper in the trailer. The producer is well-versed in EU continuity. Who knows? They may even adapt some pre-existing material, like the "Obsession" storyline from the comics, for instance.
Anyway, I want to volunteer now and say that I would be more than happy to do the talkbacks for this show come this fall.
This is from part of a Q&A of sorts at TVGuide's website. The whole thing you can read here.
Well, at least the original Clone Wars cartoons aren't being ignored in terms of continuity. I was kind of wondering about that.
If Lucas does the really mean thing of only showing this movie/first 3 episodes ONLY in theaters, then I'll probably have to go and give Lucas my money. But if the first 3 episodes are shown on TV with the premiere of the rest of the series, then I'll wait and watch it then.
