Star wars episodes 7 8 and 9?

Lucas recently said in an Interview that he planned to have a tv spin off with certain characters from the Star Wars movies. He mentioned during an interview at Cannes that Episode III was the last move in the Star Wars saga.

Unfortunately, Lucas cannot give a definitive answer as to whether it is truly on 6 parts or not.

He says there's only 6 then, in another breath, he states that he doesn't know how many parts there are, then there is only 6, then there is 9.

Who knows.

The live action TV series will be set between Episodes 2 and 3, and will feature unknown and little known characters from the Star Wars Expanding Universe. With a little interspersing of familiar faces I hope.

Some Bounty Hunting, from a certain Clone Model would be good.

He's always stated that it is in theory 9 parts. But - and this is the crucial bit - the whole basis of his films are the life of Anakin.

He's dead in the 6th, so he see's no point with 7,8,9

But he returns to thru the Force in Episode 6, just as Yoda and Obi Wan did, and as Qui Gon did in Episode 3 (altho we didn't see him)

And life goes on after death, as all good mediums tell us.

Do you mean between episode 3 and 4?

I think this series could be very good if they do it right. And if theres going to be 100 hour episodes thats a lot of tv time.

Back in the late 70s he said that the plan was for nine films. The question is whether he ever mapped out the whole nine, or was it just a throwaway remark? He must have had a good idea about 1-3 in order to make 4-6 but did he ever have a grand theme for 7-9?

I would like to see some story set between 3 & 4, telling the story of the Empire's growth and the formation of the alliance and the early battles between the two before "A new hope" arrived.

Didn't Vader and Peter Cushing's caracter belive Obi Wan was dead at the start of 4? If so then why? because Anakin knew he was alive after their fight, so what happend to make them think otherwise years later?

I've read a similar debate on Aintitcool after someone posted about a story in the Star (I know, I know) about a prequel-prequel where Yoda fights the last of the Sith hundreRAB of years before EP I. The underlying feeling there was that in future there will be other Star Wars films, just that Lucas wouldn't write or direct them. Don't forget, this is a Billion dollar industry, you don't just stop doing them.

So we'll have the TV series first, if that's a success then we'll probably get another Tv series (a la Star Trek) then we may get some more films. I still think it'll be 20 years before we see another Star Wars film in the cinema.

After finishing Jedi, and putting the franchise to bed for a while Lucas didn't give too much thought to the Star Wars universe. It was only when he gave the go ahead for Timothy Zahn to write the first of the expanded Universe books did he really look at the whole thing.

He had stated that it would be a 9 film series, and with that in mind told those who were dealing with the book licences, that no books could be written from 30 years before "A New Hope" as that is the time frame for the first 3 films. He also left a gap after Jedi so that he could do films 7-9.

Subsequently some books have fallen through that time zone, and thus I doubt any films post Jedi will appear. It would be nice to see something, perhaps a trilogy which preceeRAB the New Order series of books.

I'd also suggest that Lucus would really want to be put through the stress and pressure of doing any more films in this series. The last trilogy while being good, were always going to compete with the original trilogy, and that was always going to be difficult to beat. He did a good job, but not as good as the originals.

There are actually going to be two TV series made. Firstly a cgi version of the Clone Wars cartoons, set between episodes 2 & 3. Then a live action series set between episodes 3 & 4 using minor characters - most likely Bail Organa & the birth of the Rebel Alliance.

theres 6 Films featuring the Skywalkers apparantly.. But if there was to be other films they'd feature other characters.. such as Han Solo, etc Etc

theres gonna be 10, 11 and 12.
well not really but that would be enough to catch up with the final fantasy series.
the final fantasies are different while star wars will continue the same story and could become boring.
