star war fans, question for ya?

what do you think happened between the rise of the empire and the start of the rebellion? i know there's stuff that lucas has ok`d like the force unleashed about vaders apprentice and stuff but what about the unanswered things? like how han met chewbacca or did yoda do anything else or just sit on dagobah for the rest of his life and did the remaining jedi just go into hiding or did they try to reorganize themselves. just asking because i have just watched the films again and idk. just wish lucas had not left a gap. so what do you think (if any) story could have slotted right into that period
