so a few months ago i applied for ssi benefits in downtown chicago, two weeks after applying they sent me to a phychiatrist (their psychiatrist i assume) at 205 w. randolph suite 750. i went there im pretty sure i was approved. after appointment the doc told me to call the ssi office the call adjuciator to be exact! and give them my claim nuraber to see if i was approved. well i called when i got home and they said they will send a letter in the mail. that it takes a week for a decision and even if she knew she couldnt tell me. okay so i waited 2 1/2 weeks and i just recieved a letter TO CALL THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and i have 10 days to call them or it could result in a claim denial. im thinking theyre gonna tell me im approved. i mean atleast its not a DENIAL letter... DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? ANYONE. please help

whitegirl21: I don't know what the letter means. Just follow the directions and call them. It's part of their process and if you don't follow it they could deny you. Just stay calm and positive about it and go with the flow. It's a paperwork nightmare with them.

don't know exactly what that means either, but as the above poster stated. follow up on what you get told with ANYTHING having to do with ssd. you wont know anything til you at least make that phone call. hopefully it IS a good sign? there also is a really great disabilities forum here too with TONS of people in your particular waiting for ssd/ssi situation. i posted there ALOT while i was going thru my process back in 2004. everyone there is just soo way helpful and also VERY knowledgable about this whole freakin process we have to go thru too. good luck with that phone call. please let us know what you find out, K?
