Good news for SL but, i.m.o the first three places in the rankings will swing among three teams (Aus, SL & Ind) in the coming few weeks. Ind will have a few more ODI's to play, SL taking on WI after Aus, and Aus keep losing games which will take down their top ranking. Team rankings are getting shuffled like songs in an i-Pod like never before.. A team used to hold a certain position for a considerable amount of time back then. Ex - Aus ranked #1, SL ranked #2 etc..
In your opinion, how will the rankings be as at 19th Feb 2010 (when WC starts?) and will that give a clear indication about which teams are gonna be in the semis? I don't think so... SL, Ind, Eng and Aus (yes, i think Aus would still hold a respectable position by Feb11') would be ranked top 4, but who knows, Pakistan could pull out an upset and swoop into semis...
