Squealing Problems With a Ford Explorer?

Assuming he replaced the bad engine with a junk yard engine did he replace belt?
Once they sit for a while they dry rot and squeal like a stuck pig. If belt is new probably has a pulley/pump problem like the above poster mentioned. Try some belt dressing spray to see if it helps. If it does not help you definitely have a pump/pulley issue with the replacement motor.

My friend replaced the engine in his ford explorer. Now when he starts it up it squeals real loud. It's gotten less noises but when he revs it it gets louder. Does any one know whats wrong? I really want to help him.
