sprint wont give me my text messages?

that i have deleted. They said they can not mail me my messages because of privacy issues and that i have to contact law enforcements. do i have to ask a random cop? do u think they can help me get my text message content or will i be spending ,ore money just to get money? I am suing my ex by the way and i need the text messages to prove he owes me money. someone plese help
