Sprint mobile hotspot too slow.?

i paid $30 for this mobile hotspot to be able to use a wi fi through my laptop but the speed is too slow,im having a good signal quality infact it says excellent connection but when im going to download something in the web then it takes me 5-8 hours finish a 678mb file,. any suggestion?thanks :>
