Sprint LG LOTUS lx600 WAP enigma, almost there!

I uploaded a cricket .prl file to it. I was using CDMA workshop, but it was limited so I found QPST and changed the SID to 5586 (Cricket for Greensboro,NC) on every SID entry (7 times). NID is still 65535 and the MIN and Dir_Nuraber to my phone nuraber 3369879068 and the name to Cricket and the banner to my name.

I changed the SPC to 000000

When I power on the phone, it says 'Entering sprint service area' and 'connection timed out'

I've got about 3 bars which was 5 when it was sprint. When I make a call it says: "Your service is being denied... until we validate you phone with your carrier..." something like that.

Do I need a feild service code? Or is it ready to take to the cricket store?? It doesn't sound liike the cricket message, i think it's still going to sprint what's wrong?

Ok, so now it works, kinda. I dialed *228 for customer service and it went to cricket automated customer service. They attempted to program it over the air but it didn't work. They said I should go the the cricket store and get it programmed, does that means it's not flashed fully?

Check to see if your spc is six zeros, on the dial pad pres ##000000# and if it brings you to the service programming menu then you can manually program it in there for talk and text by plugging in your MIN/IMSI and MDN which you can get from Cricket. If ##000000# does not bring you to service programming, you need to flash it. Manual programming will get you talk and text, as far as Web and MMS, that's another battle.

Thanks crmcsh01 for your response, but yeah it does work when I use ##000000# and i've already added the min and mdn, I just don't know what i'm missing.

I already have cricket service on my other phone that's broken, i thought about switching esn's but I think that's illigal and I'd rather learn the right way.

I already have the right sid in it too, 5586 and it makes calls to 611 customer service just fine, but when I try *228 the automated voice said it couldn't be programmed over the air and have a cricket customer service person program it for me.

I'm trying to avoid the $15 dollar phone change fee. I know it can be done because i bought a blackberry from this savvy guy and he changed service right there on the spot for me by calling customer service and having them change some nuraber (maybe the esn?) in their system. It seemed like she was reluctant or just didn't understand his request but he got it worked out very nicely it even had internet access.

I'm using a sprint lotus, what do you think I should do? Do you know what I can say to the customer rep to get this phone activated without having to pay a $15 dollar fee (maybe that's just what the local stores charge?)?

And do i have to convert to pESN?

Thanks in advance

It seems like you should be good to go as far as the flashing side goes. My guess is that cricket has not put the ESN/MEID on your account or they have the wrong ESN/MEID nuraber on it. Find the ESN/MEID inside your phone instead of the one on your sticker behind the battery. As far as the $15 fee, as far as I know, the only way to wave that fee is either to have a corporate cricket store wave it for you, which can be a pain, if you have customer service do it, they will charge $15 to your next bill for the ESN change.

There are dealers that advertise on all the forums that can do it for $5, but ya it sounRAB like you need to add the MEID DEC: to the account then *228.

Hey so how do i get internet to work??

I already set up my username as my 10 digit [email protected] and password "cricket"

the customre svc rep said picture messaging wouldnt work, can I make it work? (He asked me if this phone supports internet and I told him yes so it should work i believe)

Web on a lotus is quite the pain, at least for me it was. I've tried it quite a few times with no success, the phone keeps reverting to sprint settings when I reboot the phone. I would start by following the samsung instinct method of getting wap. I have also read that using the .dll and LgDownload works, but I have never tried it. MMS is not going to work at all at least from what I have read/experimented with. Good luck with the web. Glad to see you got it programmed

Software version on my phone is lx600v10.

I'm trying to upload the lx600 generic one so I can use cricket WAP. I've done all the correct settings using the current software but to no avail, it's a common issue for these LG settings..

anyway I need a bin file to upload to my phone with LGNPST, where can i get one?

I'm trying to download the bin file off my phone using LG Download, but I don't have the lx600 dll for lg download and I can't find it. How can I get it?

Any input greatly appreciated as I've been messing with this phone for about a week now. (btw it is flashed to cricket for talk and text and I know mms will probably not work)
