sprint evo senestivity?

i just go my new phone a few weeks ago..the problem i have it the sensitivity on the screen when i text..i was making typing mistakes all the time and i assumed it was due to the fact my nails were gone..(no tips to point on the right letters) i got my nails done and go to use my finger nail to type and nothing at all happens..i have to use the pad of my finger to type a character and more times then night the wrong letter appears..please help !!!!!!
