Sprint Curve 8330 Broken: Curve 8530, HTC Hero, or Samsung Moment?

Recently the vibration motor on my Sprint Blackberry Curve 8330 has broken. I took it to my Sprint repair center, received it back, and it was vibrating again, although at a less loud rate. I discovered today, less than one day of having received the phone back from the repair center, that the vibration motor is still broken. On top of that, the phone isn't in too good condition. I can continue to get it repaired for free, but that doesn't seem to work. I can pay the $100 insurance fee for a brand new device, but that would "waste" some of my insurance (can't think of the right word to use) and I am also growing tired of this old device.
Currently, there are three devices I am looking at as replacements. These three are in the closest price range to getting a replacement phone, and also have what I want.
The first, the new Blackberry Curve, is the phone I am most opposed to. I like the newer operating system, and keeping BBM is nice, but the App World doesn't have much to offer, and since I got bored of my old Curve very easily, this seems like a bad choice.
The second choice is the HTC Hero. I almost waited to get this phone when it came out back in October, but thought the price was too steep at the time, $199, while the Curve was just $49. Now, looking back, I should've spent the extra money. I love Android OS and its quickly growing Android Market along with the new 2.1 update. I also have heard it is a lot easier to root than the Moment, although I'm not sure how true that is. The downside is that I'd be without a physical keyboard, which I can go without if it really is better than the Moment or Curve.
The final choice is the Samsung Moment. At first, I hated this device. It looked tacky and the OS was very sluggish. Now, it's growing on me, and with Android 2.1, it's a lot faster. Additionally, I kind of like stock Android a tiny bit better than Sense UI, if it comes down to the Hero or the Moment. I also like the physical keyboard. The downside to this phone is that I don't like Samsung too much. Before I switched to Sprint, I had an AT&T Samsung Impression, which I had a TERRIBLE experience with. I had about 4 different phones, and they were all incredibly buggy.

I know I wrote A TON but help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It's been a couple months since you posted, but in case you haven't picked a phone yet, here's my two cents worth... I've had the HTC Hero for about 6 months now and I'm not sure exactly when the vibrating motor stopped working, but if that's why you're thinking of getting another phone, I wouldn't look toward the HTC Hero. It doesn't work at all.

Other than that, it's been fine for what I've needed. Good luck.

My vote is for the Hero. I tend to lean towards HTC over Samsung generally for the beand quality, but the Samsung here got better specs. I got a Droid Eris which is a close twin of the CDMA Hero and it worked very well. If the Samsung Moment already comes with Android 2.1, that would be a catch too. Its a close call between the CDMA Hero and the Moment, if you can talk to your phone rep, see if you can get the Moment or Hero already with Android 2.1.
