Sprint cell phone (Kantana eclipse x)?

Hey, I was walking on the side of the road one day and seen a Sanyo Katans eclipse x and took it home with me....the contracr was expired and/or terminated because can't call or text....so I was wondering how I can use it as MY phone. Can I get a planm for it? or can I make it a pre-paid?
