Sprint Airave's Best Performance?

I am looking for a Sprint Airave. My wireless router / main network hub will either be in the basement, or the attic. My question is, where is the best location to place the Sprint Airave to get the best signal? I have 2 floors, attic, and basement. The outer wall is Aluminum, so I doubt I'll get service in the backyard like I want.
