I have spray painted a plastic object, the paint goes on very nice, i let it dry for about a day then when I sprayed it with clear coat, DISASTER! it instantaneously cracked the paint job. I re-sanded it and removed the paint and sprayed the color once again. Now I am afraid if i were to spray it with clear coat it will crack the paint job again. my question is, how long should I ideally wait to spray it with a clear coat. Should I wait more than a day for the paint to dry up, should I do it after an hour of paint, what do you you guys recommend on when to clear coat a spray paint job?
also: how much of clear coat should I apply, my object I am spraying is tiny, maybe me overdoing the clear coat made it crack the paint under.
