goosepimples - I had some cramping in my feet when I excercised when I first started taking it, and mild breast tenderness - that has passed. My dr. took blood the other day to make sure there are no potassium issues, no news is good news. Almost 2 months in, skin gets better every day. Still breaking out a little, think it's just the residual "left overs" working their way out. Have your dr. check your blood for adverse side effects and good luck

Hi, I'm acutally not on Yasmin now. I take "Apri" (generic Desogen). I did at one time try Yasmin though, but it didn't really do anything for me.

With antibiotics, some can cause GI upset (especially Doxycycline). Another side effect that you might get (with more long term use) is a yeast infection. Most of the time I took antbiotics it was Minocycline, which IMO is the best antibiotic with the least severe side effects.

I REALLY think you should try Spiro. It sounRAB like you've already tried everything (twice!). Being on Yasmin should help since it has a tiny bit of drosperinone (sp?), but I bet you would really benefit with 100 mg Spiro daily. Try to see an endocrinologist if you're having difficulty finiding someone to prescribe it for you. Good luck!

you will never get a medical doctor telling you this but I am pretty much convinced that my daughter has many digestive problems because of her years of antibiotic use. she started at 12 and is 19 now. now she has many food allergies, constipation and candida plus thyroid issues. antibiotics upset the flora in your system. they kill the good and bad bacteria that your gut neeRAB to digest your food. we have enlisted the help of a naturopath to straighten her out and wean her off without breakouts. i have alot of problems too and it's possible it's cause I took them also for acne. i am not trying to freak you out, I am just suggesting that it is best to be off of them if there are alternatives. you can search out wellness type web sites and learn more about antibiotics effect on the system. they are not meant to be taken long term.

Goosepimples: I am not on Spiro, but am on my third month of Yasmine which I guess has some Spiro in it. It has done wonders for my acne, but OH MY GOSH I have had some BAD cramping in my legs, feet, even my jaw when I yawn which has never happened to me, lol. Wonder if it's anything to be concerned about?? I was hiking last month and when I got to the top of the mountain, one of my calfs cramped up sooooo bad, and I've always hiked without the happening. Then, the other day my boyfriend was horsing around with me and tried to pull me into the cold shower and I braced myself with my legs so I didn't go in and BOTH my calves cramped at the same time!!! I couldn't freaking move, it hurt so bad and was so uncomfortable!

If you're REALLY worried about the Oct 20 wedding, then just take the keflex. The spiro will take months to work, whereas the Keflex could just take a week or 2 to start seeing results. It's absolutely safe to take Spiro with an antibiotic. However, if you're really concerned about it, then wait to start Spiro until after the wedding. I can almost guarantee you that if you JUST took spiro and not Keflex, you will not notice much difference by the time of the wedding. I took antibiotics for years without any side effects. Then, I started Spiro, and continued to take the antibiotic with it for months. good luck

I've been on 100mg of Spiro for 67 days now. My skin is definately less oily, but I am still getting the odd small cyst :-(
How long does it take to kick in?!

Anyway, I have also not had a period since I started Sprio, which is slightly worrying. Though to be honest, and I know this sounRAB short-sighted, my self confidence is so low that I am way off worrying about my reproductive system!
