..."alloy", what does "alloy" refer to? "And the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, the mighty One of Israel, says, Alas! I will ease Myself of My foes, and avenge Myself of My enemies. And I will turn back My hand on you, and purge away your dross as with lye, and take away all your alloy. And I will restore your judges as at first, and your counselors as at the beginning; afterwards you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city. Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her returning ones with righteousness".
(Isaiah 1:24-27)
What does it mean to "be redeemed with judgment" ?
This word mention of "Spiritually assaying" comes to mind form this word from God:
"I have set you up an assayer, an examiner among My people, that you may know and try their way. They are all grievous revolters, walking in slanders; they are bronze and iron; they are all corrupters. The bellows are burned, the lead is melted by the fire; the refiner melts in vain; for the wicked are not plucked away. Reprobate silver they call them, because Jehovah has rejected them.
(Jeremiah 6:27-30)
Why did God, after assaying His people, call them "bronze and iron".... and does this give us the impression that an "alloy" is undesirable to God, our True refiner and assayer?
"But who can endure the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap. And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may be offerers of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.
(Malachi 3:2-3)
Here also is another passage which speaks of "alloys" :
"Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me. All of them are bronze, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the middle of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver."
(Ezekiel 22:18)
"Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the refiner".
(Proverbs 25:4)
