Spinning wheel of death on my mac bluetooth?

Hey i have a mac at home (laptop) and everytime i go on bluetooth it has the spinning wheel of death and then i have to force quit it. is there anything i can do about it ?
i am trying to send songs to my phone by bluetooth but my laptop bluetooth stuffs up
