So sorry to hear about the fall and glad you have been checked out. I was upset you hadn't gone to the ER - seriously!!!
I hope you don't have a compression fracture now. I am trying to heal from one myself. I fainted on Feb. 1 in the middle of the night, took while to revive and as a result took an arabulance ride to the hospital. I was admitted due to severe dehydration and having both strains of the flu at the same time.
Xrays show that my hardware is fine and in tact. However, I have been in horrible pain since. Really really bad. And I was not on any meRAB prior to this - just Advil or muscle relaxers occasionally. So I cannot imagine what you might feel like having been in so much pain already. I have been on oxycodone 2 to 4 a days for weeks now.
If I am not significantly better in a few more weeks, they will run a bone scan to verify if I have a spinal fracture (doesn't always show on regular xrays) and if I have osteoporosis. Due to age and inactivity from all the back surgeries, I am a perfect candidate for it, although I had a bone density scan on my heel last year that was excellent. I guess that can be unreliable.
Being awake with your fall as opposed to fainting, you were probably able to break your fall a bit with other body parts so that may have spared you.
You will probably feel like a fleet of trucks ran over you in the morning - it is often worse the next day, so really hunker down and take it easy.
Keep us posted as you are able. ( (HUGS) )
