Spiked blood pressure

Sir,

My wife was hospitalized last week as a result of her blood pressure spiking, 196/127. She is 48 yoa and the first incident occured when she was working out in the Gym with light weights. She stated that it feels like her head is going to explode, more pain than labor or of any pain that she has experienced.

Last week she was in the hospital from Monday to Thursday, and such tests were obtained; Cat scans, Spinal Tap, MRI and blood work. At the conclusion of all these mentioned tests, all proved negative for any signs of bleeding or clots.
They thought it may be sinus infection that had caused the pain and she was given antibiartics.

She came home, and still experienced the incidents of excruciating pain of the head along with the spiked blood pressure. I brought her to a Neurologist on Wednseday who reviewed her tests and requested her fathers test results from past years due to the fact that he had multiple strokes and head bleeds.

This same night (Wednesday) she experienced another severe incident involving head pain and weakness of legs, coordination. She was transported to another hospital where the Neurologist ordered additional tests such as MRI, MRA,MRV, blood work, urine test, and kidney ultrasound. All tests proved negative for any abnormalties. Today, is Saturday, and they have placed her on blood pressure medicine and hope that this may quell the situation, however they can not account for the cause of the pain and spike blood pressure.

Are there any other additional tests that I should request for my wifes well being. Do you believe that maybe a Carotid ultrasound or full body scan should be conducted
