Spielberg "Cracks Story" For Indiana Jones 5

The Indiana Jones and the City of GoRAB script by Frank Darabont is on the internet if you dig around. It's quite similar to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and is no better or worse IMO.

Crystal Skull, whilst flawed in places, wasn't all that bad. Way better than most summer popcorners these days, and probably no dodgier than Last Crusade was considered at the time.

I actually quite liked it, up untill the jungle chase scene, once Shia started sword fighting the whole film totally lost the plot from that point onwarRAB, for me anyway.

I would be happy with a new film though, I just hope they don't go over the top, especially with the cgi furry creatures, George Lucas i'm looking at you, furry obsessed weirdo

Don't fill the scene with as much CGI as possible, sometimes less is more, Lucas once again i'm looking at you. Oh and finally don't be lazy, just because you can use CGI doesn't mean you should, little things do matter, they used real bugs and spiders in the older films yet naff looking CGI scorpions in Crystal Skull, please put in that little bit more effort and stop being cheap and lazy.

Awaits the next film which will be crammed full of CGI monkeys and Gophers and god knows what else.

Found this quote, just about sums up the fat bearded one and his input into the last movie

Spielberg hardly seemed to be involved with Indy 4 at all. OK he was the 'director' but how much of it did he actually direct? LoaRAB of it was 2nd unit and it seemed like Lucas was more in charge. That's the impression you get from the DVD docos. Spielberg had always been against doing Indy 4 then he just relented for the fans' sake, he didn't want to make it himself!

Yeah - it was a real shame about Crystal Skull after all the reports that they were going to use retro special effects techniques. All the cgi robbed it of any charm.

If the film takes about two years to make it could come out in 2011. Harrison Ford was born in 1942 which means he'll be 69 years old! Do people really wanna pay to see a 69 year old playing Indiana Jones? Er...

No.

I don't understand why Lucas and Spielberg want to continue the franchise. It's not as if they need the money - they're both insanely wealthy! Please leave it alone. Indiana Jones should be a young man, not close to his 70s! That report says the film might be released in 2012 - meaning Ford will be 70! Indiana Jones age 70 - forget it.

I hate it when that excuse gets trotted out, what a lazy way of excusing poor filmaking.

Just because it's a big blockbuster popcorn type flick doesn't mean it has to be shit, the first three indy films are those type of films, yet they all quite easily managed not to be total gash like the second half of Crystal Skull.

It's quite clear where the blame lays for the crap parts of Crystal Skull, especially after reading the quote I posted from the man himself, it's no wonder Spielberg never really wanted to make the film.
