Spiderman 4

I'd like to see a Spiderman 4, it's not as if they are running short on villains

SUPER-VILLAINS LEFT

Lizard
Mysterio
Chameleon
Kraven the Hunter
Hobgoblin
Scorpion
Carnage
Rhino
Shocker
Morbeus

Forgot to include Vulture in that above list

So many villains to choose from. However another question is, will Tobey and Kirsten be willing to come back for a 4th movie if one gets made?

Dylan Baker played Dr Connors (aka The Lizard) in the last few films and already is a mentor figure for Peter. His story is crying out to be told on screen and he would've made a far more satisfactory, real-world villain than Venom or Sandman. Hopefully, producers will see sense next time around (IF there's a next time..), rather than feature another villain as implausible as Venom was. Look what a mess Spider-Man 3 turned out to be, in large part due to Avi Arad's insistence on having Venom as (one of) the baddies.

In any case, it's highly unlikely that Maguire or Dunst will reprise their roles again. Give the franchise a few years rest before it returns I say, with a brand new cast to boot.

I’d love to see the lizard involved. Dylan Baker is, in my opinion, a good actor and I would like to see him get his chance!

I agree, recasting is a very bad idea, Toby Maguire IS Spiderman and yes, 3 was a bit of a mess..did we really need the Sandman? Really? The story of Peter's uncle was told in 1 no need to rehash it for the sake of ANOTHER villain.

I agree 100% about the Lizzard, he has been hinted at for 3 films now and nothing...he should have been in three, along with Harry's "Goblin".

Venom should have has his own solitary film, he was almost a third wheel in 3.

I do not, however, agree with recasting, bad, bad idea!

I'd like to see Tombstone, or The Spot. If we saw Hydro-Man, it would be too similar to Sandman.

I'm also glad they've gotten rid of the Osbornes. Their kiRAB were always incredibly rude. :D

Nothing is confirmed to say they would need to re-cast. I think Kirsten said they would all be up for it, but want more time in between. I think Sam Raimi acknowledges spidey 3's failings as he is sourcing a new writer for 4. The biggest problem was that Sam gave in to fan's desire to see Venom, even though he is not a fan of that story arc. Thus he could never do it justice.

Personally, my problem with 3 is that I don't like the venom black suit era. It also doesn't sit well in the Spiderman universe Raimi has created which is fairly realistic (as far as it can be). Alien matters just don't belong there.

There were too many villains & the "Spidey goes bad"was needlessly contrived. Why not just tell it the original way & have it caused by the "spider" dna completly taking over?

There was no need for alien goo on a meteorite.

It was a complete mess - almost as bad as X-Men 3

It was appalling. An alien infection makes his suit go black and causes him to walk down the street like John Travolta? That's a poor script - not really probing much into the dark side of human nature IMO.
1 and 2 were good.

PS
X Men 3 on the other hand wasn't a bad film. It just looked cr@p compared to Bryan Singer's original two.

Spider-Man 3 was not by any means a bad film. It's just the little things that were a bit, "Jeff," like the idea that of all the billions of people in the world that exist, the alien matter just happened to land next to Peter Parker, who just happens to be Spider-Man.

I also reckon Sandman should have been left out in favour of an extended Venom storyline. I remember Venom knowing all of Peter's secrets, and threating him by revealing who he is, and things like that. With this film, they spent two hours talking, an hour with Sandman and about ten minutes with Venom - that's why I was disappointed. I love the Venom storyline.
