Speedymoto Rearset install/questions

Well I spent my evening in the garage installing the new rearsets. Disclaimer: I have never put on aftermarket rearsets before and am in no way an expert.
First thing, my pegs and heel guards are flat coated as well, but not nearly as scratchable as previously reported. After spending probably 3hrs putting these on, I'm not so sure these are speedymoto's best work. For me, the layman, it seems that the linkages were designed with very little room for error. In the position that was comfortable for me, the brake and shift lever both barely hit the linkages when pushing downward; requiring some black electrical tape as to not scratch the linkage.
The biggest issue that some of you other owners can help me with is the adjustability of the rearsets. I'm not sure if there is more adjusting that is possible, right now it doesn't seem like much. Then again I'm not sure what all the bolts do on the adjuster dial. Explanation by someone more experienced would be wonderful.
The biggest issue I had, was my C linkage was cracked, as seen below. I have no idea how, but that's how it came so I will be calling speedymoto Monday. Also, the large stock bolt with the two rubber o-rings used to mount the brake plate does not work when torqued to manual specs (per Ducati), I had to loosen mine alot to get the brake to work. Anyone else have this issue???
I hope I didn't bum anyone out, I had high hopes for these things, but the jury is still out. I'm still not sure that I installed everything perfect so I will wait to hear from others.

Probably more wear resistant. Is that tape works on your rims? I love that stuff.

The sets do look great IMUO.. Sorry can not help with the tweaking.

Tapit - Like you I to have never put rearsets on before - indeed im still a newby when it comes to working on my own bike but after reading the instructions several times i thought Id give it a go.

First thing I do though after reading your post is check the linkage so I peel the tape of the end of the c linkage and guess what - mine cracked too almost exactly the same as yours

I cannot scratch the flat coat paint off with my figures but had I paid full price for these I think I'd be pissed that they weren't anodized. Their photos on the speedy site do show them as flat painted but its not obvious.

I also noticed one of the illustrations in the instructions is incorrect and they refer to page numbers but the pages are not numbered....

Haven't got the stock set off yet and am now in two minds whether I should continue. Was your linkage secure dispite the crack ? ... they obviously need to fix this fast to save face as this is not up to parr.

Upon closer inspection I retract my first statement on the quality of these - I think I was in a trance at finally receiving them..

Tapit - spotted a mistake in your setup that accounts for the linkages barely missing the levers.
You have installed the linkage B and C ends to the outside of your levers which is why your needing tape to stop them rubbing.
Check out the linkage instructions page number 3 - bottom illustrations says they need to be connected to the inside on both sides.
Still working on mine....

I know that they are on the outside and they really shouldn't be to my understanding. However, I don't see how it is possible to the on the rear for these reasons:
1) my shifter and brake pedals are only threaded so the bolt will enter from the outside, I tried putting them on the rear, but they would not start. Are these just mine?

2) by following their instruction process, it would be impossible to put the linkage on the levers while they are on the bike. No tool is small enough to tighten the allen head holding the linkage to shifter/brake. Let me know if you figure it out. Right now I am pissed.

Oh and BTW, I put my bellypan on now and the shift linkage rubs despite using the spacer they included for the 1198's. Now I don't have time to fix all these problems before my ride tomorrow so now I'm really pissed.

To answer your other question, I put my c linkage on damaged and it seems very sturdy, but I still want a new one if I keep them. The unbelievable thing is someone put those stickers on by hand over those breaks, knowing that they are broken and not up to par. At this point I am really gonna lay into those guys at speedymoto.
