In the past, I found a very nice flash photo player that did a nice fade
But I don't remember the site where I found it.
All I remember is that the example photos were macro shoots of insects / bugs mating and it cost money ($29 I think)
would anyone happen to know where I could find this flash component

it used XML to control it and it did nice slow zoom out as the photo was being viewed.
On transition, the fade looked like the image was overexposed to white then the next image would appear out of that white to its correct exposure.
