So a friend of mine says that spam is more unhealthy then cigarettes. I really find that hard to believe. I tried googling it but couldn't really find anything. I know both aren't the most healthiest things but spam more unhealthy then cigarettes? Really?

I really doubt that. Most things are horrible for you, but that sounds like a smoker's excuse. Does your friend smoke?

Spam and all processed foods are bad for you to some extent but not as bad as nicotine. Nicotine kills, and I've yet to hear of a spam related death. Eating 2 cigarettes can kill an infant, and smoking attacks the respiratory system, the circulatory system, the excretory system, the renal system, and the urogenital system. As well as those around you and the environment. Spam is just precooked meat. It provides 7g of protein, 2g of carbohydrates, and 15g of fat. It may not provide any vitamins, minerals, or health benefit, but it's not really hurting you.

Spam is high in saturated fat and sodium which can eventually hurt your renal system and too much sodium can throw off your body's balance but can't really do as much damage as smoking. Unless you're more worried about fat gain and weight gain and it's associated long term problems than something attacking most major organ systems in your body, cigarettes are much worse than spam.
