Sound - V&H Dresser Duals vs. Stock Head Pipe

Ok I had V&H Basics with stock headpipes for a while. I then went to dresser duals and kept the basics. The sound difference was there but not dramatic volume wise. The main difference was in tone and character. You can truly here each side fire at idle so you get a true stereo sound. Overall I would say it did get louder but much.

Next I bumped it up to a 95 and added an Andrews 26 cam. Louder still and more of a lope but not obnoxious at all.

Finally, I swapped the Basics out for a set of Samson 2 1/4 Fishtails with baffle. Ok, now she is loud

I added the Dresser Duals to my 2011 RKC with the Hi-Output Slip-ons, removed cat but haven't changed the cam yet. Here's the result:

I have an 06 RKC with stage1 and race tuner..V/H basic slip on's....last summer installed V/H head pipes and went tru dual with the same basic slip on's i had had....once the bike was tuned with the tru duals the sound was awesome!!!!....
About once a season i repack my baffels if they sound like there getting to loud....very happy with the sound and performance!......

the cams make a big difference in the explosion in the cylinder head resulting in a much louder sound out of the header, no matter who's pipe you may be running. its all in the amount of increased fuel and air mixture which makes a larger explosion in the cylinder itself. i hope this helps.
thank you,
JR

They're not loud at all while riding. I guess because they're under and behind the bags is why I can hear the "sewing machine" engine and the whining tranny over the pipes. I did 800 miles Sat/Sun and I'm very pleased with the sound!
