Sould i buy her a valentines gift?

My partner and I are recovering from a tough patch and valentines day is soon and the subject of gifts came up. She had always said that it is a load of commercialized nonsense but I have always bought her a card and a gift for the last ten years. She said that pitting money towards bill was more inportant than that present nonsense. Question is do I or don't I buy het s card and gift. Also what happens if I don't for het but she does for me
