I'm really hoping that this isn't some sort of gnarly infection, I really can't afford to miss any work.
Anyway, I was out real late drinking outside this past weekend for a friends twenty first, and it was a cold, wet mistake. Sunday I have a sore throat, Monday I have a stuffy nose, a worse sore throat, and sharp but quick pain in the top-back of the right side of my head, especially when swallowing, clearning my throat/nostrils, or moving my head forward or back. Today I wake up, my right nostril is pretty well clogged, my throat is raw, the head pain has increased in frequency, and my mucus I produce is coming out thick -- almost chunky, and has a strong odor to it.
The head pain is my biggest concern. It's only on the right side so far, but it's very distracting. If you can imagine feeling like you got rapped across the back if the head every time you lean forward or straighten out while trying to talk to a client, you begin to see my annoyance.
Like I was saying, I'd really rather avoid missing work (which procludes me from seeing a doctor other than ER since I work 5a-5p m-f), but I guess if I've got to go then I've got to go. Does this sound like maybe I could just take some OTC stuff and wait it out for a few days, or is it something I should see the doc about?
