Sore throat, Menengitis,Help Me Please!

Well, Starting lets say The day before yesterday, i got a sore throat, followed by a Bad, (really bad Headache, in the back of my head) Most noticable after harsh movments, such as bending over and going back up, And the sore throat is very bad, bad enough that i couldnt really swallow, Ive been having Cold sweats, pain in the back of my neck and around my back as in i could be in my room in bed with the A/C cranking, and be sweating, drinking lots of water and still by morning have yellow urine.

So i go see a Family Practice Doctor ( first time ive been to him)

I tell him my symptoms, and he does a strep throat test, and that was clear, so he says i have a bad throat infection. he prescribes me Azithromycin 250mg for 5 days, and says that if it dosnt go away in 4 days to come back and hed have to do a test for mono

My question is I have the same symptoms as Menengitis,besides vomiting and nausea, And from what i read menengitis is a fast acting/ deadly disease, And i was considering going to see another doctor for a second opinion, or am i just stressing over nothing
 
well...have you been anywhere where meningitis was? sometimes they have outbreaks of them in college dorms, but those are relatively rare. If you haven't been around anyone,or anyplace that definitively has the disease, I would take the easiest answer first. If that doesn't work, then look farther, but for now, take the easy route...it's usually the correct one
 
Ok, So the doctor said i should be feeling better within 48 hours ( he gave me the meds on wensday)

The headaches are pretty much gone, but that was slowly going away before i started taking the medicine.

But i still am having some strange feelings in the back of my head and my neck and like the center of my upper back. and my sore throat hurts just as bad as it first did
 
It's only been 2 days...give it until Sunday. It'll take 3-4 days for the antibiotics to work - unless he gave you an injection to jump start it but you didn't so say...
