Sore throat freaking out

Laughable

Hi,
long story short,
i just turned 47,
about a week and a half ago I noticed a sore spot on my neck after 5 days went to ent. said I had saliva gland infection, clogged I guess,,, anyway
put me on amox,875 for 10 days, He looked in my mouth andfelt my neck. I told him I had been very very worried for the worst..... he said I was worring for nothing and not to worry.

been a week,

now I have a sore throat for about 4 days, I smoke I still feel the saliva thing but not as bad, but the sore throat is really starting to bug me. I google it and of course all i get is throat cancer hits.

Do you think if i had something really wrong he would have seen it?

I need to let this go man.... I go back in 2 weeks for follow up.

I feel like i have a sinus infection with some Post nasel drip, stuffy head.

I guess thats my main question,
Do you think an ENT would know if I had something bad wrong from just a 20 minute office visit?

Thanks

Well, to ease your mind a bit, EVERY symptom you plug into an internet search will probably end up in cancer hits, when it's usually unlikely that's the diagnosis.

I'm not going to lie: your smoking REALLY makes your risk of throat cancer go up (but I'm sure you already know this).

When you go back to your doc for a follow up bring your concerns up. More often than not it's not cancer or a terminal diagnosis. Make an earlier appointment if you're that concerned about it. No sense in worrying if you don't have to! Good luck.

I'm having pretty bad post nasel drip, pretty sure sinus infection too,
hopefully its just that, if i do have a cigarette it does irritate it,

etting green this AM from sinus after 8 days on amox

I'm trying to stop with all my might... not hard enough I guess....

I have nicotine gum, man this sucks
