Its usually normal
Just make sure to warm up before you sprint uphill
stretch a little bit, & after your workout make sure to cool down (jog)
and then stretch afterward also
by doing that you shouldn't be that sore to we're your stiff the next day. :)

You need to start taking better care of your legs. After your hard runs you should ice your legs where they hurt. What I do is get those styrofoam cups and fill them with water and freeze them. Then you peel away the styrofoam to reveal the ice. Then you massage the ice onto your muscles. Do this after all your hard runs where you think you might be sore the next day. What you are experiencing is most likely a case of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). It is the pain or discomfort often felt 24 to 72 hours after exercising and subsides generally within 2 to 3 days. You need to be careful that it may also be shin splints. You want to avoid shin splints at all costs because they can take weeks to many months to heal. So take good care of your legs. The next time you run listen to your body. Warm up as usual but if the pain continues or feels like it's getting worse stop running. Ice works best for the first 24 hours after the injury. After that it's better to soak you legs in a hot water. What my doctor recommended I do is use a small trash can and fill it with hot water and mix it with epson salt and soak my legs in it for about 20 minutes.

I've been doing uphill sprinting, and the last couple of times I did it, I had some pretty sore lower legs afterwards (afterwards being right after and the next day). The soreness is sort of on the front inner part of the leg, where the muscle connects, or meets the shin bone, and pretty low (below the calf, and sort of going into the top of the front of the ankle). Its not unbearable pain or anything, but my legs are really stiff the next day. They didn't really get sore until that last couple of times, so I am just wondering if this is normal or not.

Your muscles are going through recovery. It happens if you haven't ran in a while. Give it a day or 2 and it will stop hurting, just don't do anything too tough with your legs. Best thing you can do is stretch.
