sore back or tmj?

About 12 months ago i woke up with a stiff neck and shoulders and then my spine started clicking certain movements and it was really sore on the right side of my spine,the bone felt bruised where it clicked.It was like this for a few months and then it seemed to ease a bit but it never completely went away.I also get sharp pains in the right side of my head.The pain is back and worse and painkillers arent easing it anymore.
Also around the same time i got neck pain etc i couldnt open the left side of my jaw and had ear pain and temple headaches on the left.I have been told i have tmj but i cant help thinking its all from my back because back pain is my worse symptom and its getting worse.
Any ideas back or tmj?
I am having a spinal x ray tomorrow so i am thinking if nothing shows it must be tmj.
 
Well, I have both TMJ and back issues. My TMJ symptoms actually went away for quite a while, until recently. It's been very cold here (under freezing) and I wonder if that, along with me snacking on these "chewey" bars isn't aggravating or triggering my TMJ. Keeping away from sticky or chewey fooRAB esp. when you are having a TMJ flare is very important. My back also flared up when it started to get really cold here and made a snapping sound. Since then, the pain has just been horrific. I will be getting an MRI on Monday. Do you think it could be both for you; TMJ and some back problems? How is the weather there? Let us know how your spine x-ray went....:)Janiee08
