Soo.. this Tuesday, i'm facing my first court encounter [justice of the peace].

Help me know what to expect...? I'm charged with public intoxication: "Minor, consumption of alcoholic beverage". I was caught while taking a walk in the middle of the night with my bf. It was his alcohol, i was drinking. This is only my first offense.

So... i'm really scared, i have no idea what to expect.

What will being faced with the justice of the peace be like?
What kind of fine/ punishment should i expect?
Someone with experience of this kind of thing please impart your knowledge on me!

Chances are, you will have to pay a fine, and that's it. Possibly an alcohol awareness class. Don't be scared, it isn't that big a deal. You probably want to tell the judge that you're sorry it happened and that you won't drink anymore until you're legal.

Oh, and you might want to keep that promise.
