Sony Vegas Quality Question?

I am currently using a video camera which records in full HD aka 1080p and i use Sony Vegas 8 Pro to edit and im wondering if I edit that footage in sony vegas and then render it will it degrade the quality of the footage instead of keeping it at 1080p? or how can i change my settings to make sure it renders in full HD?
