Sony vaio won't turn on?

Well I accidentally (stupid I know) spilled a little bit of water near the mousepad. The screen stayed on for a while then turned off completely. I clicked the power button but the light just slowly faded off. Everytime i clicked the power button, the lights near the sd slot and wireless switch would turn on as normal, but then off. This was about 10 minutes ago. I tried removing the battery and did dry it. My Sis tried turning it on and it did but then went off. Please I could use any help right now. Thank you
