Sony TV (LCD) or Panasonic TV (Plasma)?

I've been doing a lot of research online on which TV I should get for my bedroom, I originally decided Sony... cause it goes well with my PS3 which is from Sony, but I was reading the Customer Reviews and some people had problems with getting Sony TV's that were broken from the start and saying that Sony has the worst customer service ever and that if your TV breaks past Warrenty... you have to pay $250 to get it fixed or get a refurbished one... I hate using already used items, especially if they were broken before... so that's a no no to me, so is $250 dollars, very picky, lol. Other problems include the TV going black and white, green, lines through the TV, which happened with my last TV. (Also, I have a problem with the ugly grey bar at the bottom of Sony TV's. All my friends tell me to get over it, not a big deal, so I will, haha.) I was also reading that a lot of people have problems with Sound Quality and hearing the TV all the way turned up with a small fan going in the room. I need sound cause I live with a house hold that pounds their music. If I go with Sony, I plan to get speakers.

So I was reading further and some people recommend Panasonic instead of Sony and I did not find one bad customer review with Panasonic. So I was like... I should go with Panasonic... Then I hear that Plasma TV's have a problem with Burn-In's happening... where the picture of the show or movie burns on to your screen if left on for a while... well, I do watch a lot of TV, so I do plan to leave my TV on for long periods of time... My last TV I left on all the time even when leaving the house... So I want a TV that can last when left on for more than 24 hours at a time... but I hear that the new Plasma TV's have fixed this Burn-In problem... but random people on forums still think you shouldn't leave your TV on for more than 10 hours cause they don't trust it.

So looks like both TV's might have problems... so either way I decided to get a Protection Plan... but still am trying to decide what TV to get. I ask friends and alot are saying either or... not very helpful. I really need help deciding what's best though. I have really bad and horrible luck with stuff I buy breaking on me in just a year. Alot of people say that I treat my property very well and that it always looks brand new, so I know it's not breaking because of me, lol. So I really need help in what to choose cause I want something that at least lasts a very long time and that I'll be pleased with and not regret.

Some other things I have been reading up on are that LCD's are better for games or hooking it up to your computer. Plasma's are better in dark rooms and have a crystal clear picture. Well, I got the PS3 to play games but to also watch Netflix movies on... so yet again... I still don't know what to choose? Plus my room is dark probably 90% of the time.

Also... after I do decide... Should I go with Walmart or Best Buy to buy it? Mainly aiming for protection plan. $54.99 for the Best Buy 2 year Protection Plan. $44.33 for the Walmart 3 year Protection Plan... and $79.99 for the Best Buy 4 year Protection Plan. I hear that Sony TV's have been giving out mostly after 1 or 2 years... so I want to make sure it at least lasts 3 years... even though my old TV lasted 4. Both Protection Plan's sound the same but put in different ways... but Best Buy mentions something about Burn-In and Pixel Coverage... so if I did get a Plasma and it did the Burn-In thing... I'd be covered... I wonder if Walmart does the same but had it worded differently. Would be nice. Anyways... Should I get Sony (LCD) or Panasonic (Plasma)?

Here are some websites I've been looking at to help me choose, maybe they'll help you also.
