sony PSP ??internet??

so im tring to get the internet on my psp i have a wireless router and my sister lap top gets the internet in the house but i go to put the internet in my psp it scans and says 100% but it always says" a connection error has occurred. The attempt to obtain the IP address timed out" and i cant go on the internet what should i do and how can i fix this?so i can go online....

PS. when i first got my psp (1 1/2 years ago) i was able to go online.
