First, please pardon me that I will be a new GSM user effective March 14, after LNP avails in Toronto. That's why I have no idea about GSM and the SIM cards.
I will be switching from Telus to Rogers and after much research, I am zeroing onto the Sony Ericsson W810i.
One of the reason that I will be making the switch from CDMA to GSM is the powerfulness of the SIM card (I thought) -- storing contact info inside that card and simply insert the card into a new phone when I switch to another new phone down the road (... hope this is not a myth!)
My question is: Since these new phones come with a USB cable that I can connect to my computer (and hopefully there is software [CD-ROM] coming with the phone), can I actually use my computer and the software to input contact info and then download them into the SIM card thru the USB cable into the phone?
I look forward to hearing from anyone of you. Thank you.
