Sony Ericsson w810i or Nokia N80

I have been following both of these phones since they were announced last year and now that they are both out, I simply cannot decide which I want to get.

The N80 was originally the one I wanted. I absolutely love the idea of having WiFi on my phone as well as the ability to run S60 apps. The price, however, is more than I really wanted to spend. I am still willing to pay the current price, but price has definitely become a factor.

With the w810i, I lose the WiFi and the smartphone operating system, but I gain an excellent music player with dedicated buttons and from what I've read on these forums, the camera on the w810i is better than that on the N80 due to the w810i having auto focus. And, of course, the w810i is about 60% of the price of the N80.

I know there has to be other people who have had a similar dilemma. I hope that you can shed some light on this problem I am having. Thanks in advance.
 
wait for the SE k800 and its 3.2mp cybershot camera! i was debating with this and the n80 and it all really depends on your needs. do you NEED wi-fi and will use it daily for a purpose? SE phones are good for basic needs and it features are perfect for day to day needs. you do pay more for a smart phone. my .02 id take the w810
 
im gonna agree with smood - i too was debating between the n80 and the w810 before they came out - the w810 came out first and that definitely helped my decision, but even since the n80 came out, im not regretting that decision at ALL

the w810 is AWESOME - sure, i miss having all of the apps i had on my s60 phone, but to be honest with you - i didnt really use them all that much (that is, after the initial 2 week period where you say "whooooooooooooooooooa - lookie what i have on my phone NOW!")

heres what i love about my w810
- great form factor / size
- SUPER fast ui (s60 generally tend to be slower - i know that the newer s60 ui's are supposedly faster - but i highly doubt they are nearly as fast as non-smartphones)
- the camera really is awesome
- i still get full internet access with opera mini (and google local works too)
- and the walkman is just tops - i have an fm radio anywhere i go, and when im not getting reception (like in subways) - i have my mp3's

its really an awesome phone - i would save myself about $250 and just go for the w810 - i have to admit, the wifi is DEFINITELY an awesome perk to the n80 - but you have to decide whether its worth the extra money (and again, like smood said, are you really gonna use it all that much? thats not a sarcastic or rhetorical question - if you really are gonna use the wifi - then you should definitely consider it)

EDIT - if you wanna see the camera capabilities - check out my moblog in my sig - ive had it since april so every picture/video since then has been from my w810 (maybe with 1-2 exceptions)...
